The article stated:
The family of Ethan Hallmark of Midlothian, Texas, whose four-year battle with terminal cancer before succumbing to his illness late last month at age 13, was made public through video, and has released a clearly different message than the one Brittany Maynard is giving in video in which she shares her desire to end her life on her own terms, drawing national attention.
“Thirteen years old and my son was not like mainstream America. He knew suffering was as much of a part of life as happiness was,” wrote Ethan’s mother, Rachel Hallmark in her most recent blog post that addresses dying with dignity in response to the discussion happening over the last few weeks surrounding Maynard’s decision.
“Suffering exists all over this world in far greater forms than cancer. Taking a pill to give yourself an early demise isn’t the solution whether you are facing cancer, poverty, warfare, abuse, or any of the endless other forms of suffering. With fearless bravery, he [Ethan] accepted that life wasn’t always easy, that sometimes we have to face giants we’d prefer not to.”
Maynard, who was diagnosed with a progressive brain tumor shortly after her wedding last year, received national attention after releasing a video explaining her choice to die on Nov. 1. However, she has recently released a new video sharing her thoughts with her friends, in which it appears her decision in regards to timing her death is not as clear.
There was one thing the article stated I wanted to address:
“You have these moments where you ask God, ‘Why? Why my son? How can a loving and omnipotent God allow a kid who is 9 years old to go through this suffering?’” said Ethan’s dad, Matt. “God answered me in that moment. It was a moment that was crystal clear.”
I want to address the word “allow.” God did know Ethan would go through this, but God did not “allow” this. “Allow” means “to let do or happen; permit: to permit the presence of: to permit to have.” There are things required in God’s Will, but death is not one of them. Jesus’ Death is the only death God required. God is a God of Life!
What God did do was give Ethan parents like Matt and Rachel because God knew they were the parents Ethan needed. Mr. Hallmark said God answered him in that moment, which is what God does from the cries of His Children. Mr. Hallmark did not say what God said, but he did say He made it crystal clear. Peace is another thing God does for His Children.
That was Mr. Hallmark’s moment, but I think God let him know Ethan was giving Him Glory. I think He let him know they will be together for Eternity in the Kingdom Of Heaven. I think God let him know how proud He was of Ethan.
Suffering has three Purposes. The first is to give God Glory. The second is God throwing our name at satan like He did with Job and the third is suffering builds character. Even Jesus had to suffer:
“Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;” (Hebrews 5:8)
Jesus’ suffering gave God Glory! Ethan’s suffering gave God Glory!! I think God took pleasure in throwing Matt, Rachel and Ethan’s names at satan!!!
I wrote about Lauren Hill in my Blog titled, “Our behavior is the true reflection of our hearts and our motives.” Ethan’s Spirit reminds me of her. I receive around sixty e-mails a day from about twenty different news sources. I read the first article about Lauren Hill on October 22nd. I finally saw a follow-up article today titled, “Terminally Ill Cancer Patient Lauren Hill Scores in College Basketball Game.” Someone fighting to live is what the media needs to be promoting.
Earlier in the day I had written a different Blog. That changed after I read, “Brittany Maynard Dies in Oregon.” The article stated:
Some of Maynard’s friends did confide privately Sunday that Maynard felt “devastated” in recent days because, they said, several media outlets and social-media commentators had fully misinterpreted her latest video — released Wednesday, recorded on Oct. 13 and 14 — as a sign that she had changed her views on death with dignity and that she had decided to ditch her plan to end her life before the cancer claimed her.
She had not.
Earlier in the day after reading titles about her almost every day I felt she was making videos just to get attention. I even stopped reading the articles. I read the article titled, “Brittany Maynard on decision to die: Now ‘doesn’t seem like the right time,’” which states:
Brittany Maynard says she hasn’t decided yet when she’ll end her life, but it’s a decision she’s still determined to make.
“I still feel good enough and I still have enough joy and I still laugh and smile with my family and friends enough that it doesn’t seem like the right time right now,” Maynard says in a video released to CNN on Wednesday. “But it will come, because I feel myself getting sicker. It’s happening each week.”
This article is what made me start feeling the way I was feeling. By the article they were quoting her. How is it that she went from feeling that way on Wednesday to killing herself on Saturday? Now it looks like she killed herself to show she was not just after attention.
This is why we must be so careful about sharing. If killing herself was something she wanted to do she should have just kept it to herself. If she changed her mind no one would have known but her and she still might be alive tonight. It is so sad when we give the Victory to satan.
My heart is broken, but I thank Brittany for allowing me to get the blood of my abortion off my hands. I was trying to do the same for her. Pride is another word for arrogant and stops people from receiving the Truth. What she never understood was going through with her plan would start the real pain for Eternity. My prayers goes out to her family.
CAN GOD THROW YOUR NAME AT satan?
“And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?” (Job 1:8)
