I do not know why people are so determine to pick the date Jesus is coming back. The Bible is very clear about that. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. Hal Lindsey, author of ‘The Late Great Planet Earth,’ believed he had unlocked the secrets of this passage in Matthew 24:32-33, suggesting the generation that saw the 1948 rebirth of Israel as a nation—purportedly symbolized by the fig tree—would see the return of Jesus Christ. In what became the world’s best-selling nonfiction book of the 1970s, Lindsey wrote a biblical generation is “something like 40 years” and suggested that “within 40 years or so of 1948, all these things could take place.”
But when Jesus didn’t return in 1988, Lindsey’s interpretation of the passage came under heavy criticism and for many years the church largely shied away from teaching Bible prophecy. Now, World Bible Society President F. Kenton “Doc” Beshore argues Lindsey’s interpretation of the passage was correct, but he was wrong about the length of a biblical generation.
Instead of 40 years, Beshore says a biblical generation is actually 70-80 years, basing this on Psalm 90:10: “The days of our life are 70 years; and if by reason of strength they are 80 years.” Based on this, the author of ‘When?: When Will the Rapture Take Place?’ and ‘The Millennium, the Apocalypse and Armageddon’ believes the Second Coming will occur sometime between 2018 and 2028, or 70 to 80 years after 1948. Taking into account the seven-year Tribulation period, Beshore expects the rapture to occur sometime between now and 2021.
First of all even trying to figure out when Jesus will return is playing God:
“But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” (Matthew 24:36-44)
It cannot get any clearer than that. God gets upset when people try to play Him. That is why if people do not get that cancelled out they will spent Eternity in Hell with the first person that tried to play Him, which was satan. He is correct about the significant of 1948. 2011 was the end of the sixty-three years God gave to Re-Birth His Church. The sixty-three years started after Israel became a nation in 1948. Now God is stepping in to Re-Birth His Church in 2014. The real Question is not when Jesus is coming back, but will you be ready when He comes back? By the article if He came back today he would not be ready. “The Rapture” is for people that have fulfilled their Purpose or better yet that has done God’s Will. “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only” means trying to figure it out is NOT God’s Will.
We already have enough to figure out about our own lives without trying to figure out when Jesus is coming back. Trying to figure it out is what my daily Bible reading calls, “proud,” which is nothing but pride. Instead of “surmising” about when Jesus is coming back he needs to deal with his pride, which arrogance is a byproduct:
“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.” (I Timothy 6:11-16)

“O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.” (I Timothy 6:20-21)

“Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
