“And David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies that ministered to the king by course, and the captains over the thousands, and captains over the hundreds, and the stewards over all the substance and possession of the king, and of his sons, with the officers, and with the mighty men, and with all the valiant men, unto Jerusalem. Then David the king stood up upon his feet, and said, Hear me, my brethren, and my people: As for me, I had in mine heart to build an house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and for the footstool of our God, and had made ready for the building: But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of war, and hast shed blood. Howbeit the Lord God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel for ever: for he hath chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he liked me to make me king over all Israel: And of all my sons, (for the Lord hath given me many sons,) he hath chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel. And he said unto me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. Moreover I will establish his kingdom for ever, if he be constant to do my commandments and my judgments, as at this day. Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the Lord, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the Lord your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever. And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever. Take heed now; for the Lord hath chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it. Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat, And the pattern of all that he had by the spirit, of the courts of the house of the Lord, and of all the chambers round about, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries of the dedicated things:” (I Chronicles 28:1-12)
When God gives His Children something to DO He is with them until they finish it:
“And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.” (I Chronicles 28:20)
There are three ways to KNOW what God wants people to do. The First way is a Relationship with God through the Holy Spirit. The Second way is Reading the Word of God Daily and the Third way is “God’s Process.” (Posted at this Website) The three is how people stay on track to do what God wants them to do. God’s Process is how people “serve him.” The Ascension Level in God’s Process is also our “Pure State” and is how people get to “a perfect heart.”
Like my daily Bible reading people must “seek” God through their Relationship with the Holy Spirit to know what He wants them to do:
“Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years. And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of David his father, and declined neither to the right hand, nor to the left. For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images. And they brake down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that were on high above them, he cut down; and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images, he brake in pieces, and made dust of them, and strowed it upon the graves of them that had sacrificed unto them. And he burnt the bones of the priests upon their altars, and cleansed Judah and Jerusalem. And so did he in the cities of Manasseh, and Ephraim, and Simeon, even unto Naphtali, with their mattocks round about. And when he had broken down the altars and the groves, and had beaten the graven images into powder, and cut down all the idols throughout all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem. Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land, and the house, he sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of the Lord his God.” (II Chronicles 34:1-8)
“If thou seek him, he will be found of thee,” but people must “seek” God to find Him. It is hard for people to do what God wants them to do unless they are Healthy and Strong. You already know I am a big advocate of Exercise. I love walking, but most of my results body wise have come from “BJ Strength Training Yoga.” Strength Training is how people stay “Strong.” I do four of the ten exercise listed in the e-mail article, “10 Must-Do Strength Training Moves For Women Over 50” from “Very Well.” I did not list the exercises because I think people need to design the “Fighting Aging” Exercise Program that works for them. People can find everything they need on the Internet, but again people have to “seek” for them. I do not use any equipment. I use my own body weight as weight. The article is talking about women, but Strength Training benefits men too. I read Navy Seals have incorporated Yoga in their Strength Training Program. The article states:
Life goes too fast. The older you get, the more you recognize how fleeting it is. So how would you like to slow down the aging process? No, we can’t turn back time. However, we can turn back the years on our body. Research has shown that exercise can slow down the physiological aging clock. That’s right – working out can keep you young! And while cardiovascular exercises such as walking, jogging or biking are important for heart and lung efficiency, it is strength training that provides the benefits that keep your body younger, stronger and more functional as each year passes by. If you want to be vibrant and independent for many more years, this strength-training workout will help you achieve just that.
Why Is It Important To Strength Train After 50?
According to the American Council on Exercise, “Between the ages of 30 and 80, sedentary adults can experience as much as 30 to 40 percent loss of muscular strength as a result of reduced levels of muscle mass.” The good news is that this doesn’t have to happen! The word “sedentary” is key. Strength training is important for everyone, but after 50 it becomes more crucial than ever. It ceases to be about big biceps or flat abs but rather takes on a tone of maintaining a strong, healthy body less prone to injury and illness. The important benefits of strength training after 50 include:
BUILDS MUSCLE MASS
No, this doesn’t mean you turn into the Incredible Hulk. It means that you are a solid, strong person who can lift their own groceries, push their own lawn mower and pick yourself up if you fall down.
BUILDS BONE DENSITY
Unexpected falls put countless older people in the hospital every year. An 8-year-old puts a cast on his arm and gets back to playing in 8 weeks. An 80-year-old isn’t quite so fortunate. The ramifications of broken bones can be devastating. Strength training can help. One study in New Zealand on women 80 years of age and older showed a 40 percent reduction in falls with simple strength and balance training!
DECREASES BODY FAT
Too much body fat isn’t good for you at any age. Maintaining a healthy weight is important especially when it comes to preventing many diseases that come with aging populations.
LOWERS THE RISK OF CHRONIC DISEASES
Not only will strength training help save off many chronic diseases, but it also helps lessen the symptoms of issues you may currently have. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) recommends strength training for most older adults to help lessen the symptoms for the following chronic conditions:
*arthritis
*osteoporosis
*diabetes
*obesity
*back pain
*depression
IMPROVES MENTAL HEALTH
Along with aging comes a higher rate of depression and, for many, a loss of self-confidence. Strength training has been shown to improve your general self-efficacy and can help lessen the incidence of depression.
Sounds like a pretty good deal, doesn’t it? For just 20-30 minutes a day you can see big changes in your body age. And don’t forget, it’s always helpful to have guidance. If you have the ability to reach out to a fitness professional – even if it is just for one session – he or she can help take you through proper form and teach you how to move properly for your body. Enjoy your new fountain of youth!
Father’s Day is usually not as big of a deal as Mother’s Day is so I would like to celebrate Fathers today. So many times Fathers are hated because the children do not know the whole story or the Truth. If you are not in your child or children’s life that is something God wants you to do. Fight for it if you have to. God will Honor your Fight!
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY TO ALL OF THE FATHERS!!!
